If your image is a square, it will be quick and easy, but if not, you may have to do some cropping to keep it looking right. If you have no desire to work on or make your own avatar, I did find a site on DeviantArt that says they'll make an avatar for you (http://avatar-magic.deviantart.com/). There are probably other sites on DeviantArt that would have free avatars of the right size.
