I would love to see them moving!

in theory I agree with you, but practically – I have enough problems with my eyes and dancing avatars would just be too much for me to take. I’m afraid I would have to resign my post…..

I noticed my data transfer really spike over the past couple of days and I don’t have additional traffic….the only thing I can think of is that I’ve add some animated avatars to my site people are using. Would this effect my data transfer rate?

yah… animated pics have more frames than just a stationary pic… so the file is bigger… and its takes more bandwidth…

where you have lots of different pics and they all flash back and forth

go to download.com you can find some animation/gif programs. basically you just upload the different pictures for 1 file, and when u save it, they’ll be animated.

This is a brief video-tutorial I made to show others the very basics of creating animated gif image using Photoshop CS2 powered by Image Ready.

This tutorial is not narrated, but I did my best keep the video focused on the important steps, and made sure to go as slowly as possible without dragging on too much.

Good Luck on your gif. I hope this helps get you started making animated avatars, or whatever else you come up.
