gifmake.com is where i go to make animated gifs. Its free and make good quaility gifs unlike some places.

i know how to make animated gif but when i try to upload it here on YA Profile, it says only jpeg and png files are accepted.
oh ive been awol on YA P&S for a long while, so i have no idea.

As far as I know they aren’t banned yet, unless there was a very recent decision about this. I saw one as recently as 2 or 3 days ago. If they are not allowed any more I and other members would really appreciate your source.

However, they seem to have lost most of their former popularity. When it was first discovered that one could do it there were lots of them. but it looks like almost all of those have disappeared. Many members find those GIFs annoying and distracting, and for some it can even create medical problems such as headaches, nausea, or worse. And there has been discussion of an outright ban

People got sick of them. Too hard to make their own. Some may have copied other people’s and it soon got boring. So apart from a few weeks of experimentation, it never really caught on.

This one was the first on the US site and I haven’t seen all that many.

I had one, after a short time I could not stand looking at it, it gave me a head ache. For that reason I am glad they are not easy to make and the size requirements limits the number of ready made animated giffs. If someone comes up with a point and click way to get a animated avatar I think about 40% of the users here will get one.
