Avatars

Ok, well firstly you need to be proficient with the tools in The GIMP. The way they have done this, is they have layered a gradient, stars, a figure, light effects, and a strip of text, altered the colours and stuff–and this has all been done probably at a resolution of 500×500 or even bigger perhaps, then resized down to 100×100 (because you easy to get more quality in in 500×500 and resizing down than from just working in 100×100) and done a two-pixel border around the square fo the final touch: the inner pixel being white, and the outer being a desaturated pink.

Nothing can beat chibis!
Out of all of these icons I only made one; the one at 1:32, I think.

How do you go about making icons for Mac. in photoshop? Then once made how do you post them when on various forums?

That’s quite a few questions. I recommend hitting the photoshop tutorial sites as this is a common tutorial. The method of posting would depend on the forum you intend to use.

Like they say something like, "You still don’t realize how all of my icons/avatars are about you." As in referring to love icons about how you like your crush, but they don’t know how those icons are about them.

You could request them at a forum or website. I request my icons/avatars at invisionfree.com but you need to register and have a board, and some other requirements.

Or you may try searching them at google (small images).
