Avatar is an upcoming 3-D science fiction epic film directed by James Cameron, due to be released on December 18, 2009 by 20th Century Fox. The film is Lightstorm Entertainment’s latest project, and Cameron’s first fictional film in 12 years, having last directed Titanic in 1997. With an estimated budget of $237 million, Avatar is currently the fourth most expensive film.
The storys protagonist, Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), is a former Marine who was wounded and paralyzed from the waist down in combat on Earth. Jake is selected to participate in the Avatar program, which will enable him to walk. Jake travels to Pandora, a lush jungle-covered extraterrestrial moon filled with incredible life forms, some beautiful, many terrifying. Pandora is also home to the Navi, a sentient humanoid race, who are considered primitive, yet are more physically capable than humans. Standing three meters tall (approximately 10ft), with tails and sparkling blue skin, the Navi live in harmony with their unspoiled world. As humans encroach deeper into Pandora’s forests in search of valuable minerals, the Navi unleash their formidable warrior abilities to defend their threatened existence.
Jake has unwittingly been recruited to become part of this encroachment. Since humans are unable to breathe the air on Pandora, they have created genetically-bred human-Navi hybrids known as Avatars. The Avatars are living, breathing bodies that are controlled by a human “driver” through a technology that links the driver’s mind to their Avatar body. On Pandora, through his Avatar body, Jake can be whole once again. Sent deep into Pandora’s jungles as a scout for the soldiers that will follow, Jake encounters many of Pandora’s beauties and dangers. There he meets a young Navi female, Neytiri, whose beauty is matched only by her ferocity in battle.
Over time, Jake integrates himself into Na’vi’s clan, and begins to fall in love with Neytiri. As a result, Jake finds himself caught between the military-industrial forces of Earth, and the Navi, forcing him to choose sides in an epic battle that will decide the fate of an entire world.

After watching Avatar, I was blown away. The storyline wasn’t as exciting and original as District 9, but the visuals were groundbreaking. I felt like a kid throughout the movie, and would give anything to live in the Pandora (but I would probably die due to breathing in the toxic atmosphere). The visuals inspired me to create this look. James Cameron is one of my favorite directors of all time, Terminator 2 Judgement Day as being on my top 5 movies of all time.
This look is not suppose to look like an Avatar, rather evoke the imagery and colors of Pandora and the Na’vi.

Now thing is probably most of you heard who James Cameron is, and you have PROBABLy seen at least one of his creations Titanic, Aliens, Terminator 2 etc. 
Now Mr.James Cameron is expected todrop another multi-million dollar project on our heads in Late 2009. Its called Avatar and is expected to bring sci-fi movies to the new level. The buzz surrounding this film is ALREADY big and growing. Whats fantastic about this one already is that specifically for this film, James Cameron and his crew had to develop new technologies, innovations in camera work and also a new CG development called “Image Metrics”.

Avatar is an upcoming 3-D science fiction film directed by James Cameron, due to be released on December 18, 2009.
In director James Cameron’s original script treatment of Avatar, a man tries to make his way as a miner by combining with an alien during an interplanetary war in which aliens can manifest themselves by possessing human bodies avatars.
When Avatar was titled “Project 880″, a casting call was put out in June 2006 with a plot description provided, saying, “In the future, Jake, a paraplegic war veteran is brought to another planet, Pandora, which is inhabited by the Na’vi, a humanoid race with their own language and culture. Those from Earth find themselves at odds with each other and the local culture.”
In December 2006, Cameron described Avatar as “a futuristic tale set on a planet 200 years hence [...] an old-fashioned jungle adventure with an environmental conscience [that] aspires to a mythic level of storytelling.”The January 2007 press release described the film: “Avatar is also an emotional journey of redemption and revolution. It is the story of a wounded ex-marine, thrust unwillingly into an effort to settle and exploit an exotic planet rich in bio-diversity, who eventually crosses over to lead the indigenous race in a battle for survival,” and “We’re creating an entire world, a complete ecosystem of phantasmagorical plants and creatures, and a native people with a rich culture and language.”

James Cameron’s given us a whole lot of big-name movies over the years, but his newest, Avatar, might be his biggest yet. Already, tickets for a free sneak preview were snatched up so fast online that servers were crashed.
When a paraplegic war veteran is taken to a distant planet, he’s going to discover that there’s a whole lot of bad blood between the humans who’ve moved there and the planet’s indigenous life. But how bad can things get? Oh, you’ll find out soon enough. Check out the trailer that everyone’s been dying to see.
Now here’s the interesting question–considering the amount of hype that this one has already brought into play, can it possibly live up to all that hype?
